Care Team Bios

Zack Hilty

Zachary Hilty is a 33-year-old quadriplegic man whose care story who became disabled as a result of a swimming accident. Since then he requires 24/7 care to live independently. Zachary feels fortunate to own his home, to drive and have part-time employment, but recognizes this would be impossible with out his care team and family. Zachary is involved with the New York Caring Majority to fight the injustice of the wages pay his personal attendants receive through Medicaid. Additionally he works as a peer counselor at the Resource Center for Accessible Living in Ulster County, is an avid gardener, dog owner, history buff, and a diehard New York Mets fan.

Lolli Edinger

Lolli is a homecare worker in rural Ulster County. She came to homecare as a way to help friends' loved ones remain at home. She currently cares for 2 people, as well as advocates for Long-Term Care and wage increases for homecare workers as a leader with Hand in Hand through the New York Caring Caring Majority campaign. She lives with her husband and two kids in a tiny cabin in the woods with 2 dogs, a cat, 2 turtles, guinea pig, fish, and several chickens. Lolli is active in the fight to increase pay for home care workers in New York through Hand in Hand and the New York Caring Majority.
